IPv4 Address Count
An IPv4 prefix leaves a fixed number of variable address bits.

How to use this calculator
- Enter prefix length in bits.
- Select Calculate and keep the output unit with the answer.
Before you use the answer
Write down whether a size uses decimal or binary prefixes and whether a rate counts bits or bytes. Compare the same system boundary on both sides of a performance calculation. Measured throughput is usually a more useful planning input than the maximum number on a product label.
This is total address count, not the count of conventional host addresses.
Does it save my inputs?

Why might a result be approximate?
Measurement uncertainty, ideal-model assumptions and floating-point rounding can all matter. Displaying more digits does not improve the original measurement.
